If you want to change your visitor status to work permit please follow the following steps below:
Step 1: Get a job in Canada
Reach out to potential employers to find a job. You can also apply for jobs on various known platforms like Indeed, Job Bank etc
Step 2: Get LMIA approved job letter
A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that may be needed by an employer in Canada to get before hiring a foreign worker.
An approved LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job and that there is no Canadian worker or permanent resident who is available to do the job.
Step 3: Apply for a work permit
Once you have the approved LMIA, you can apply for a work permit
In addition to the steps above, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria listed below to benefit from this public policy:
Have valid status in Canada as a visitor on the day you apply
Have been in Canada on August 24, 2020 and remained in Canada since
Meet all other standard admissibility criteria
